About Us

Approximately 100 years ago, St. Catherine of Siena Parish and School was founded. St. Catherine of Siena School is a Prek-8 Catholic School following the strong traditions of the Catholic Church. The parish and school are staffed by members of the Community of Beatitudes. The Community of the Beatitudes is a Catholic community bringing together in the same family consecrated sisters, brothers, priests and lay members, married or single, who share a fraternal life, a prayer life, and mission. The influences of the Beatitudes can be seen during weekly liturgies, classroom visits by the priests or nuns, and the many prayer opportunities the Community shares with the students.

Each day students engage in meaningful prayer and invigorating lessons. The goal for a graduate of St. Catherine of Siena is to prepare students for a lifetime of discipleship and leadership. To accomplish this goal, the school addresses the development of the whole person through strong spiritual and academic formation. In doing so, the school instills and cultivates a lifelong moral compass developed through the teachings of all facets of the Catholic faith and academics that challenge a student to succeed at his or her level.

The Catholic Faith Community

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School is a faith community where we worship together and strive to live the teachings of Jesus in our relationships within the school and the community. Our daily actions are a reflection of having Jesus as the center of everything we plan and do. As the parish school of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, we benefit from the participation of the priests of the Community of the Beatitudes. We are blessed that they celebrate school liturgies with us, visit the classrooms regularly and are generally present for all our spiritual needs.

Students engage in daily prayer with their teachers. Each day begins with prayer and each student benefits from the inner focus that comes from prayer and the sense of community that comes from praying together. Daily prayer reminds us who we are and who we want to become in the world. At every grade level, the faculty strives to make connections between religion and all subjects. In addition, religious instruction is an essential and required part of the curriculum.

Special liturgies and celebrations are planned throughout the year. The entire school body joyfully celebrates Halloween, All-Saints’ Day, and Dia de los Muertos with costumes, events, and festivities; St. Nicholas has been known to visit us on the feast of St. Nicholas; the school leadership team (CATS) presents an emotionally moving ‘living stations of the cross’ during Lent; 8th graders proudly present a beautiful live tableau during Holy Week, as well as a traditional May crowning and living rosary; the regular prayer life and practice at St. Catherine’s also includes opportunities to attend special masses for holy days and participate in private confessions twice each year.

Academics and a Catholic Education

The curriculum used at St. Catherine of Siena School is provided by the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools and follows the standards set forth by the Colorado Department of Education. The curriculum of the Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Denver can be accessed at http://archden.org/schools/office-catholic-schools.

We believe Catholic education addresses the development of the whole person through spiritual and academic formation based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We serve students from Preschool – 8th grade. As part of developing the whole person, we do require our students to perform service hours within the larger community.

With strong curricular lessons, we instill and cultivate a lifelong moral compass that transcends time through Catholic teaching, servant leadership, daily witness, strong academics, and a loving example all in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. The following are some highlights of our school:
